Side Hustles…
Work should be fun. That’s a fact. I’m lucky that I get to ‘work’ at doing the things I love. Win-win.
I studied Music and Drama at Uni and I’m still heavily involved in both. My wider family are all musical too and we’ve all grown up playing in bands. I even played at my own wedding….!
I’ve always been interested in people and what makes them tick. So working as a journalist was an obvious career choice. Plus radio is ace. Listening to the radio whilst drinking a good cup of coffee is a small slice of heaven (before the kids ruin the peace). I’ve always been an organiser, and now I’m also helping to bring together other freelance mums on child-friendly Netwalks.

I’ve always counted myself lucky that playing in bands has been a huge part of who I am. When I’m not at the beach or swimming in the river, I’m often playing gigs.
Johnny & The Chic Sisters is our party band; perfect for weddings and big events.
With Nell & I is a more intimate, acoustic set-up with a mix of originals and covers done our way…
And Linney Magic is all originals; whether it’s rock, blues or folk - we’ve got it covered.

I adore radio and love freelancing at BBC Radio Devon. Send any potential news story to jess.wynn-jones@bbc.co.uk

I was lucky enough to have MED Theatre on my doorstep, growing up on Dartmoor. I’m now privileged to be Chair of this fantastic community theatre.

Freelance Mum was set up by a good friend of mine in Bristol. It’s child-friendly networking for busy mums in business. I now run the South Devon hub :-)
