Work should be fun. That’s a fact. I’m lucky that I get to ‘work’ at doing the things I love. Win-win.

I studied Music and Drama at Uni and I’m still heavily involved in both. My wider family are all musical too and we’ve all grown up playing in bands. I even played at my own wedding….!

I’ve always been interested in people and what makes them tick. So working as a journalist was an obvious career choice. Plus radio is ace. Listening to the radio whilst drinking a good cup of coffee is a small slice of heaven (before the kids ruin the peace). I’ve always been an organiser, and now I’m also helping to bring together other freelance mums on child-friendly Netwalks.

 

  • I’ve always counted myself lucky that playing in bands has been a huge part of who I am. When I’m not at the beach or swimming in the river, I’m often playing gigs.

    Johnny & The Chic Sisters is our party band; perfect for weddings and big events.

    With Nell & I is a more intimate, acoustic set-up with a mix of originals and covers done our way…

    And Linney Magic is all originals; whether it’s rock, blues or folk - we’ve got it covered.

  • I was lucky enough to have MED Theatre on my doorstep, growing up on Dartmoor. I’m now privileged to be Chair of this fantastic community theatre.

  • Freelance Mum was set up by a good friend of mine in Bristol. It’s child-friendly networking for busy mums in business. I now run the South Devon hub :-)
